Yesterday, out of the blue, he softly says from his carseat right behind me,
"I don't want to go to heaven."
I wait to see what other wonderful thoughts he might put out there before I say anything. But, he doesn't say anything. Just continues sucking his fingers and rubbing his ear.
Then, quietly, I hear again,
"Mommy, when you die, you go to heaven and then, we cannot be together."
I really haven't had many talks, if at all, specifically about this topic with Eric and we weren't talking about it at all before he said these things. I just wonder why his mind wondered to something like that on our drive home yesterday? And, I'm embarrassed to admit this, but I drove the last few miles more carefully, just hoping it wasn't one of those premonition moments.
Silly superstitions.
I recently had this crazy dream. The kids and I packed up the van with my camera, computer and minimal belongings, and we took off to travel the country a bit, visiting elderly family members that need some much deserved attention, profiling professional photographers for blog posts on my other page, and just finding some really interesting facebook friends to photograph and interview. My first photography project ever will be called simply, 'Facebook Friends,' and it will compile photos and stories from some of my friends who have such varied backgrounds and beliefs. I may be the only one who finds that fascinating. I just love America for its diversity - when it works. Oh, and poor Camlon. In my dream, he was left behind to work. :(
We are currently hosting a Home Group (part of our church family) and we are reading through Bonhoeffer's, "Life Together." Interesting read. And our group is a very diverse one and as I stated above, I LOVE that!
Grandma Barb came for a glorious visit. It was everything grandpa's earlier visit was supposed to be if the kids hadn't gotten sick and I wasn't all stressed out. We even went to the same places I was planning to explore during grandpa's visit. But, more often than not, we were at home enjoying books, school, games, cookies, rolls, and more books!

We took our bomb bird to a new park to explore.

Grandma really liked these playground rules, especially #3 and #6. We were just trying to picture Ally reading them, "What does improperly mean, Mommy?"

Come again soon, Grandma!! And Grandpa, next time you come, it will rock like this!!
