I never thought

the phrase, "5 piggy banks" would be so funny! But, when you throw 2 toddler boys together, a whole new world opens up!

It wouldn't have been a true visit without a stop at our favorite pancake place!

The hit dinner of the week, Chicken Satay to the adults - Chicken on a stick to the curious toddlers! How cool!

The babe gets her dinner too!

Unto the game of choice - Wizard. Does anyone want to play cut throat Colorado rules?!!

Hit present of the year: The giant chicken. Hands down.

I'm so grateful the greatgrandparents could make it! What a great time we had together again!

wanna snuggle?

Ended the day today in the sweetest way. Ally was so happy during dinner, she just giggled and giggled her little self silly. They ate up their pork chops and potatoes and devoured 2 slices each of MaMa Rooke's pumpkin bread. (thank you!! it's already gone!)

They jumped on our bed for awhile. Then, we read books for the next 40 minutes, sitting in our over-sized chair next to the bed. Even the cat was snuggled in next to us! "The Belly Button Book," by Sandra Boynton was the preferred reading for tonight!

We waited as long as we could for daddy to get home, but they pooped out. I tucked them into their new bunk beds (pictures soon!) and both of them couldn't get enough kisses!

As I closed their door tight, daddy walked in and straight away, went to say his goodnights. He got carried away in all the cuteness and snuggled away the next 20 minutes!

This video is another highlight from our trip to the Midwest! : ) More to come!
Thankful to be home and ready to continue making it Our home!

the Christmas memories continue...

I took so many pictures in Iowa (over 250) that I just don't know where to begin. I'll try to do some collages and add some highlight photos a bit later...

Pictures of Christmas

First, we spent some time at the Log Cabin!! Christmas #1. We celebrated on the 23rd since we all would be elsewhere for Christmas Day. It was a first for all of us and it felt strange to everyone!!

We braved the cold and took the kids down to the creek on Christmas Eve.

We even had a little fun in Pop Pop's slippers!

More photos from Christmas to follow! Tonight, after a long drive, unpacking the car, getting the little ones settled and catching up on all our holiday mail - I'm ready to crawl into our cozy bed. Our own bed!! Tomorrow, I'll be back in the coaching mode at Skylands and I plan to take down all the Christmas decorations. I lit our Christmas candle for the last time this season as we relaxed in the living room....
Loving just being home!

It's 2009!

Happy New Year to all! My brother turns 21 today and in 4 days I will be 30. The kids are enjoying Sound of Music right now as the men (husband and grandpa) nap. What a wonderful way to bring in 2009! Photos will follow in the next few posts after we arrive home from the grandparents! : )

Enjoying the relaxing-and-laid-back things.
